The changes directly influenced the compilation and composition of the library's stock. The statistical data of the Lithuanian publications have undergone immense changes: the run of books has lessened, the numbers of titles have come up, the topics have alternated. The number of titles published has increased 1.5 time (from 2500 up to 4000), the average run of one book has lessened 4.5 time (from 13000 down to 3000). Every year during the period of 1996 - 2000 there had been published 90 % of books in Lithuanian, 4 % (-150 books) - in English, 2,5 % (-100 books) - in Russian, 1 % (-40 books) - in Polish and, on the average, 8 books - in Latvian, 6 - in Estonian and 2-3 - in Belorussian. During 11 years the number of the journals has increased 4.7 times. When it was counted it appeared that the library used to receive one new journal per 4 days during the period of 1996-1998. The titles of published newspapers are not likely to change much. While the topics of the current books alternate so it happens the same in the library's stock compilation. The newly received publications mostly belong to the sphere of social science. The changes have been also influenced by the national press. The major source of compiling Lithuanian publications is the obligatory copy which we receive for free. The library has been receiving this free copy since 1941.Objektas Lietuvos mokslų akademijos bibliotekos 2001-2002 m. darbo ataskaita(2004) Marcinkevičius, Juozas; Kairelienė, LeokadijaObjektas 1940-2000 m. publikacijų apie Tado Vrublevskio gyvenimą ir veiklą apžvalga(2004) Kulikauskienė, JadvygaThe object of the review is one biographical essay, wich was published separately, as well as, small pieces of information, articles from the newspapers, magazines and selections, academic researches in the continuous publications, memoirs or references in publications concerning other topics. Wróblewski (1858-1925) was interested in policy, social and polytical ideas. In his student years T. Wróblewski was a member of illegal socialist organization and for a short period of time was exiled to Siberia. Having graduated from the university of Peterburg, faculty of law, without attending lectures he started private practice as a solicitor in the capital the Russian Empire. In 1891 he returned to his native Vilnius becoming a solicitor of the city and an active public man of the Polish community. The first Russian revolution enabled T. Wróblewski to join polytical activities. In 1906 he candidated to the lower palace of the Russian parliament (State duma). At that time he was supported by the representatives of all Polish trends, because in multinational Vilnius known for his tolerance in the sphere of national relationships Wróblewski was feeling having chances to win. However, elected was a representative of the Jewish community backed up by a small number of electors - Lithuanians. T. Wróblewski remaind alient to national egoism, was trying to make the conflicts between the Poles and Lithuanians easier. After restoration of independent Polish state T. Wróblewski did not return to polytical activity. Patrioticaly-minded Polish public men did not approve his standpoint in the sphere of national relations considering it harmful to the interests of the state. T. Wróblewski was not invited to lecture at the University of Vilnius re-opened in 1919. A group Polish inteligentsia, the so-called krajowcy, having, however, little influence, were holding views similar to him.Objektas Lietuvos technikos mokslų bibliometrinė analizė(2004) Sasnauskaitė, GiedrėA bibliometric study using the dissertations of the technical sciences maintained in Lithuania in 1940-1990 was conducted. The Belarussian books were also being compiled on the book exchange base. Sometimes, though not very often, the publications had been bought or presented by visitors. In the latter decade the international book exchange has become the one and only source of Belarrusian publications. Notwithstanding the political changes and the financial difficulties of 1990 the book exchange with the Belorussian libraries has been maintained rather stable. Starting with 1994 the Belarussian National Science Academy Central Scientific Library of J. Kolas, the National Library of Belarussia, the Fundamental Library of the State University of Belarussia and the Library of Agriculture have been the book exchange partners. The 11 % of the publications from Belorussia are in Belorussian language, the 88 % - in Russian and only 1 % - in English (the papers of international conferences). During the year of 2000 there have been compiled 63 titles of Belorussian serials and periodicals which comprise 24 titles in Belorussian and 39 in Russian language. During the last ten years the subjects of Belorussian publications which we receive have not changed. We receive publications of social, humanitarian, exact and natural sciences.Objektas Tado Vrublevskio rankraščių kolekcijos(2004) Labanauskienė, DanutėA notable Vilnius' lawyer and bibliophile T. Wroblewski's activities in the Commission for management of archives and acts established in 1919 by the Lithuanian State Council. At that time he started to work fruitfully in the fields of archives and museums as an organizer. In autumn 1918 T. Wróblewski together with members of the Lithuanian State Council J. Basanavičius and M. Biržiška were members of a commission formed by the Ministry of Education to take over museums, archives and libraries from the German administration. It is worthwhile mentioning that T. Wróblewski considered that archives of various origin situated in Lithuania belong to the Lithuanian state. He proved it by his work in the above commission. At the beginning of 1919 under the regime of soviet government headed by V. Kapsukas, T. Wróblewski continued his work in the field of protection of movable cultural heritage. He participated in the activities of Commission of Archeology, was setting up Lithuanian Central archive of archeology accumulating in it remaining archives scattered here and there. Direct involvement of T. Wróblewski in organizational and practical activities relating to the protection of heritage was terminated in 1919 by the Polish administration which substituted the Soviets.Objektas Vrublevskių bibliotekos leidinių rekatalogavimas Lietuvos mokslų akademijos bibliotekoje(2004) Pacepavičiūtė, AlvyraIn January of 1941 together with the Lithuanian Academy of Science there was also established the Library of Academy of Sciences on the ground of the following independent libraries: the National Public Library of Wróblewski, the Academic Association Library, the Library of Academic Eastern Europe Research, the Library of Vilnius Pravoslavic Seminary, the Library of Evangelical Reformatory Synod, the Library of the Polish and French Association and other minor libraries. The catalogues of the library, as well as the library itself, have gone through a complex pathway. In 1950 there was set an alphabetical book catalogue which was comprised of two catalogues: publications in Latin and Cyrillic. Periodical publications were also put into analogical new catalogues. Alongside with the filling of new publications the old library keepings were started to be recatalogued. In the first place the Lithuanian literature was rearranged, then it came up to the Russian literature and finally, to the new foreign literature (published after 1945). The old foreign literature was being rearranged in the last stage. Apart from the alphabetical catalogues the clasificd catalogue was also being arranged. The accomplished rccataloguing of the library's acquisitions was a huge work which demanded much effort and time from the staff. It lasted for 36 years and had been done by several generations of the library's staff.Objektas Pirmasis Lietuvoje ekslibrisų konkursas(2004) Narbutienė, DaivaOn the 8th of November, 1908 T. Wróblewski, an activist of culture and comunity of Vilnius district, celebrated his 50th anniversary. The golden anniversary of the bibliofile was commemorated by the first contest of ex-librises in Lithuania. The names of the participants of the contest were unknown. Some of the works were marked by pseudonims. Adam Jerzy Półtawski (1881, Warsaw - 1952, Cracow) won the contest. This prominent person, honoured for his Polish press and culture activities, was an excellent master of graphics, a creator of Polish founts and an illustrator of books. Now one can often come across A. Półtawski ex-librises in the books which belonged to T. Wróblewski.
