XVI a. rankraštinės knygos Šventųjų gyvenimo aprašymai įrišas: atvejo tyrimas

Abstract

Straipsnyje siekiama atskleisti XVI a. rankraštinės knygos Šventųjų gyvenimo aprašymai, saugomos Lietuvos mokslų akademijos Vrublevskių bibliotekos (toliau – LMAVB) Rusiškų rankraštinių knygų fonde F19 (signatūra F19-76), įrišo tyrimo duomenis. Šis tyrimas pirmiausia buvo skirtas numatomiems restauravimo darbams. Siekiant identifikuoti bizantinio įrišo bruožus, buvo nagrinėti dar septynių to paties fondo knygų įrišai. Pagrindinis dėmesys skirtas knygų įrišo struktūrai ir technologijai. Tyrimo rezultatai parodė, kad šiame fonde yra knygų, kurių įrišas pasižymi bizantiniais bruožais.

The manuscript book Lives of the Saints, written in the 16th century, used to belong to the Suprasl Monastery’s library. It is currently kept in the Russian Manuscript Book Collection (F19, signature F19-76) of the Wroblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. In 2009, the book was handed over for restoration to the Documents Conservation and Restoration Department of the Library. The damaged condition of the book and merely scanty knowledge about the structure of its binding inspired a comprehensive study of the latter. It has been determined that the binding of Lives of the Saints has some features of Byzantine binding. In order to find out whether these features are more than accidental, 44 books kept in the Russian Manuscript Book Collection have been checked. Seven books (F19-53, F19-56, F19-61, F19-63, F19-84, F19-88, F19-247) have been found to have similar features characteristic for Byzantine binding. Possibly, the examination of all the books from collection F-19, would reveal more examples of books with the features of Byzantine binding.
