Abstract:
In the holdings of the Rare Book and Manuscript Department of the Jakub Kolas Central
Science Library of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus, there are 3520 volumes of books from
the Nesvizh Radziwills' library. The chronological span of the collection is XV century-the fifth
decade of the XX century. The books from this library carry stamps, exlibrises, superexlibrises and
many other markings, related or unrelated to the Radziwiłł family. The article addresses the issue of
author and owner (ownership) inscriptions. Every fourth book from this collection has ownership
inscriptions. The books of the XV-XVIII centuries have many inscriptions, the ones of the XIX
century much less so, the XX century publications have virtually none. A large part of the Radziwills'
collection kept in the library comprises the books which owners were not always familially related.
The collection includes books not only from the Princes Radziwills' collection, but also fragments of
many other private libraries from Belarus dated as far back as the XVI century.
