Straipsnyje bendrais bruožais aptariama Lietuvos mokslų akademijos Vrublevskių bibliotekos
genezė ir raida daugiau kaip per 100 metų. Įstaigos istorija apžvelgiama tam tikrais laikotarpiais (1912–
1931, 1931–1940, 1941–2009, nuo 2009), stengiantis iškelti kiekvieno iš jų ypatybes, tačiau kartu iš akių
nepametant bendro raidos vaizdo.
The article overviews the genesis and development of the Wroblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy
of Sciences over more than a century. The history of the institution is discussed in terms of several periods,
both attempting to identify the specifics unique to each period and keeping in mind the general trend of
the Library’s development. The article names 1912–1931 as the period of the establishment of the Library,
1931–1940, as the one of the Wroblewski State Library, and 1941–2009, as that of the Library of the
Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. On September 29, 2009 the Presidium of the Lithuanian Academy of
Sciences returned to the Library the former name of Wroblewski, and on November 24 of the same year,
it approved new regulations for the Library. Meanwhile, the system of Lithuanian scientific institutions
underwent a series of important changes. These events marked the beginning of a new period, that of the
Wroblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences.
