The article discusses Capitolium perennis gloriae, a Latin panegyric written in the name of the Kiev Mohyla College and published in 1690 to honour Ivan Mazepa (1639–1709), the Hetman of the Zaporizhian Cossack Host of the Left-Bank Ukraine, on the occasion of his triumphant arrival in Kiev. Concerning the provenance of the panegyric, it is probable that the present copy used to belong to Michał Pełka-Poliński (1784–1848), professor of Vilnius University, mathematician, bibliographer, and the owner of a large personal library. It is concluded that the only known undamaged copy held by the Wroblewski Library of the Academy of Sciences is a bibliographical rarity, since the one kept in the National Library of Russia lacks the title page, while the fate of the copy kept in Lwow in 1920 is unknown. The article gives a brief summary of the content of the panegyric.
